How to use the MSN Quiz Maker builder

Build an assessment for master’s level students, step by step

  1. Set up the quizOn the Build tab, click Edit settings on the line at the top — the quiz title, course and any shared instructions.
  2. Add a questionUnder Questions, click Add question, then pick a Type at the top of the editor — multiple choice, select-all, matrix, drop-down cloze, highlight, drag-fill, bow-tie, ordered response, fill-in-the-blank/calculation, hot spot, and more.
  3. Write it outEnter the question and the answer choices, and mark the correct answer(s). The Student view beside the form shows the question as students will see it; use Check answer to try it.
  4. Add the extras (optional)Open Scenario & exhibits for a lead-in, a photo, audio or video, or a chart panel, and Answer key & coaching for the rationale and coach clips.
  5. Add more questionsClick Add question again for each one. The list shows a green dot when a question is complete and an amber ring when it needs details; select a question to move, copy or delete it.
  6. Set the assessment options (optional)In the settings, choose whether to shuffle questions, give each student a random subset, run a secure assessment, or set a time limit. With a time limit, students see the time remaining count down, get a pop-up warning at 5 minutes left, and the assessment submits itself when time runs out.
  7. Try the whole setOpen Try it as a student and switch between Practice (interactive with answer key), Instant feedback (rationale after each answer), Coach and Assessment (graded, no answer key).
  8. Publish & shareClick Save to shared library to save the quiz — then click Student link & embed to copy a link students open with no login.
Tip: Save to the shared library first — it gives you a short, editable link. Editing a saved quiz updates it in place, so the student links you already shared keep working.
